Corneal Crosslinking
What is Corneal Crosslinking (also known as CXL)?
This procedure is used in conditions which weaken the shape of the front clear window of your eye (cornea). These conditions include keratoconus (whereby the front of the corneal domes forward), pellucid marginal degeneration (whereby the lower portion of the corneal buldges forward) and post laser refracitve surgery weakness of the cornea.
On the date of your procedure, you can expect:
- A welcoming team to help you every step of the way.
- A dedicated nurse will be looking after you. You will have an option of general or local anesthesia or sedation with local anesthesia.
- The procedure will be painfree and take upto 50 minutes.
- At the end of the procedure, we will place a contact lens as a bandage on the eye to make you comfortable in your postoperative recovery.
